Our Needs
|
Our Women and Families Shelter maintains a full or nearly full census, providing nightly 10 beds for single women and 24 family rooms. The Family Center, also home to our summer and after-school youth programs, needs adequate classroom space with upgraded computers and software to keep up with educational demands.

At the same time, we have seen tremendous progress in our recovery and re-entry programs.
Established in the 1950s, City Union Mission’s men’s long-term recovery program has seen a 100% increase in graduates from 1993 to 2004. Dozens of men and women graduate from our long-term recovery programs each year with a high rate of permanent success.
Miles away, in the quiet of the Missouri Ozarks, children ages 4-16 have been able to seek respite from the chaos of the city at Camp CUMCITO. The Camp, which has operated from the same location since the 1930s, swells to capacity in June and July placing tremendous stress on old and outmoded systems. To continue to provide a safe healthy environment for our campers, we must upgrade our water delivery and waste treatment systems at the camp.
