Excited Staff Welcome Junior Campers to CUMCITO
This week's theme: Treasures of God's Word
June 22, 2008

Arrival

All of our camp staff members have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the campers! “The bell! Ring the bell,” several counselors exclaim as the buses are seen in the distance! Everyone screams in excitement for the campers despite the fact they are not even in earshot yet! The anxious campers are all pressed against the windows waiving! Ready for the fantastic week ahead of them!

Treasure Hunt

Half of this afternoon was spent cooling off in the swimming pool and during the other half the campers were engaged in a treasure hunt.

The theme of this week is Treasures of God’s Word. After eating a delicious lunch all of the campers were sent on their hunt for the treasure. With one scripture as a clue they ran all across the camp grounds in search of the next. The hunt eventually led them back to their cabins where they found a key-chain Bible. God’s Word is their treasure!

Chapel

Chapel this evening continued the theme of God’s Word as a Treasure. Among many other fun songs we sang a theme song that was created just for this week.

This was followed by a skit which focused on God’s faithful love even in difficult times.
