On April 1 City Union Mission celebrated the opening of the new Christian Life Program (CLP) Building for our long-term recovery program, doubling capacity there to 100 men. Our CLP clients moved into the new facility the end of March, allowing us to begin renovations to our emergency shelter. When renovations are completed we will be able to address the critical and growing need for adequate, dignified emergency shelter for men, doubling capacity there as well.
These projects are part of the Capital Campaign, Building the Walls that Rebuild Lives, which also includes renovations to the agency's Camp in the Ozarks and their Family Shelter. While funding for the new facility has been raised, we still need $2.8 million to complete all the renovations.
You can't have a celebration without cake, so Best of Bernadette's Cake and Catering in Mission, KS donated cakes that look great and tasted even better!
"Their generous donation allows us to stretch our donation dollars even further to provide for Kansas City's poor and homeless," said Shawna Ketter, Corporate Relations Specialist. "It's is great to have friends in our community like Bernadette who partner with City Union Mission to make a difference!" Visit Best of Bernadettes at 6011 Johnson Drive, Mission, KS 66202 and let them know you appreciate their support of City Union Mission.
