“We offer the Share A Gift program for those who want to provide for the inner city kids we serve. Through the Share A Gift program, children at the Vanderberg Youth Center’s after-school program receive two gifts - a cozy sweatshirt and a gift chosen from his or her personal wish list. For some, it may be the only gifts they receive all season. The two gifts are provided by community members who "adopt" our low-income or shelter children. The kids are so blessed by it and so are the donors. We are so excited about what Mark Teahen is doing, and about his visit. He even brought signed baseball cards for each of the kids. That's going to mean a lot to them,” explained Dena Baird, Administrative Assistant at the Family Center.

While Mark was here, he signed a few City Union Mission books and apparel making the day even more special.

Mark said, “I decided to get involved with City Union Mission because of all the great work they do, particularly in trying to help stop the cycle of poverty and homelessness by working with inner city youth. I have been given so much and just want to give back.“
