“One of our dear donors has for years operated Kiosks throughout the Kansas City Metro area Malls with some selling Halloween costumes and others selling fireworks,” said Dennis Chapman, Associate Executive Director of Development. He said:

When she decided to focus in on the fireworks business she had to figure out what to do with the over $100,000 worth of inventory that represents a $400,000 retail value. She told me that she decided to give City Union Mission the inventory because of our Matching Grant challenge for our capital campaign.

She said the idea of donating the inventory had been running through her mind since she first heard of the challenge grant. It was one of the main reasons she chose City Union Mission to receive this inventory donation instead of another organization. She loved the idea of how her generous donation will be doubled!
