Camp CUMCITO Staff Prep for Teen Girls Camp
Camp theme is Love
July 01, 2007

It's Sunday, and Camp is beginning to fill with cars, familiar faces, some unfamiliar faces, and excitement in Warsaw, MO. Campers have completed their health screenings and are anxiously packing their clothes and preparing for the first day of Teen Girls' camp. Sunday afternoon through Monday around noon is a time of training and spiritual preparation for all staff members of Camp CUMCITO.

The first full day of training begins with recreation staff receiving training on trust courses as well as water events. All the while, crafts are being prepared in hopes that the girls will have a tangible, yet creative means of connecting with the theme of LOVE this camp session. Chapel staff are preparing skits and music for the campers, while kitchen, janitorial, and other support staff are covering all the bases before Monday afternoon. After the training, everyone takes time to relax and learn new games that they will eventually teach the campers. Some cabin staff continue to decorate in anticipation of the teenage girls arrival.

During spiritual preparation, this evening, the teacher challenged everyone to look into their hearts and to confess any transgressions before the Lord. The message centered on Psalm 51 to convey the importance of having pure hearts before God. Personal preparation, especially becoming clean before God, will fully prepare the staff to minister to the campers as well as allow God to minister to them. Please pray for the staff's strength -- spiritually and physically -- as they share the love of God with the campers.
