Congratulations to Our 2005 Service Award Recipients
Every year during our Celebrate Hope: Reach Out to K.C.’s Poor & Homeless banquet, we honor those who have gone above and beyond to care for those in need. Please help us congratulate this year’s recipients.
Matthew 25 Award for Outstanding Corporate Involvement
Recipient: Hy-Vee Grocery Stores
For the past five years, Hy-Vee has partnered with the Mission to provide food for the poor through our annual Stuff A Truck event. Since its inception, Stuff A Truck has yielded over $360,000 in food and funds for the poor. Hy-Vee also donates food and other items to our shelters, has assisted with our school supply drive in the past, and hosts promotional radio broadcasts.
A Cup in His Name Award for Exemplary Church Involvement
Recipient: Hillcrest Covenant Church
For the past 15 years, this remarkable church has partnered with us on many levels to help the poor and homeless. The church’s pastors have served on our boards. Members have participated in drives, helped with special events and programs. And the church has faithfully provided financial support for our ministry through monthly contributions and special collections.
The Association of Gospel Rescue Missions Rescuer Award for Outstanding Volunteerism
Recipient: Diane Bradburn
Diane Bradburn has poured her heart, time and resources into ministering to urban youths served by the Mission. For example, she has helped our summer camping program by compiling our annual camp budget, organizing special camp events and helping us secure camp accreditation. In addition, as a member of our BED & BREAD CLUB, Diane makes monthly financial contributions to the Mission that ensure the homeless have food and shelter.
