Celebrate Hope: Reach Out to K.C.’s Poor & Homeless
October 1, 2005 – January 15, 2006
“Why are so many people homeless?” we’re often asked. The answers are as varied and as heartbreaking as each person who walks through our doors.
Some suffer from mental or physical health problems that render them unable to work. Others lost their jobs, then their savings, then their homes. Many struggle with drug and alcohol addictions.
At the Mission, we see each man, woman and child who comes here as a child of God, for that’s what they are. God knows each of them by name and so must we, giving each the individual care and counseling he or she needs to live independently again.
Will you help us continue our ministry to the homeless and poor by contributing to our Celebrate Hope campaign today? We must raise half our 2005/2006 operating budget by Jan. 15, 2006 so that we offer invaluable services without interruption:
- Emergency shelter for men, women and children
- Long-term Christian counseling, case management and medical care
- Transitional housing and follow-up services
- Educational learning centers
- Year-round community assistance
- Hotline for the Homeless
- Vanderberg Youth Center, Camp CUMCITO and Tot Lot for urban youths
