Fun in the Sun: Angela had never attended a summer camp before when a friend told her about Camp CUMCITO (City Union Mission’s Camp In The Ozarks). From then on, she spent many summers at camp, learning about God, having fun and making friends.Helping Kids in Need: Angela couldn’t wait until she was old enough to be on the camp staff. She spent five summers working as a Tot Lot big sister, and as a member of the kitchen and recreation staff.
Still Plugged in: Today Angela is a student at Marquette University and hopes to some day start a Christian youth center.
Quote: “Some of the kids at camp didn’t have a house or a loving family to return to. They felt like camp was their home. They told us, ‘You guys love us and take care of us,’ so they wanted to stay at camp. That was heartbreaking.”
