Sweet Dreams
Every night, hundreds of homeless men, women and children sleep in clean, warm beds at City Union Mission. And every day, we launder all the sheets used by our overnight guests, preparing for the next night’s influx.
We have an ongoing need for linens because we change them every day, and they wear thin much faster, explains Volunteer Specialist Pat Broadnax.
Thanks to the Airport Marriott, the homeless won’t be resting on threadbare sheets. Beginning this spring, the hotel started making regular donations of linens to our shelters. In just three months, we received approximately 2,000 sheets, 2,000 pillowcases and 100 bathmats. The Airport Marriott is such a blessing! says Pat.
Many companies help the Mission by donating items they no longer need. Can your company do the same? To discover how you can help, please contact Evie Kowalewski, corporate relations procurement specialist, (816) 474-9380, ext. 1497 or e-mail Evie@cumission.org.
