Ways to Provide

In the summer months, we use lots of bottled water and foot creams. The winter months bring a call for over-the-counter cold medications, warm coats and canned soups. But no matter the time of year, we always need bath towels, twin-size sheets, pillows, socks and underwear!

Every night, an average of 250 homeless men sleep on beds with freshly laundered sheets in our men’s emergency shelter. That’s 250 sets of sheets and pillowcases that must be washed 365 days a year! And before the men turn in for the night, they must take hot showers and dry off with clean towels before putting on clean underwear and socks.

You can imagine the wear and tear this much use and laundering has on these items. And that’s why we always welcome donations of new towels, twin-size sheets, pillows, and packages of large-size socks and underwear.

Can you help? Ask your workplace, Sunday school class or civic group to collect these basic items, then drop them off at our Men’s Center, 1108 E. 10th Street, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Click here for a map and directions.
