From the Desk of Dan Doty
There are many rewards to ministering at City Union Mission, but for me, the most important is knowing we are truly making a difference in the lives of the men, women, children and youth who come through our doors. Here, they find programs or services they need to make necessary changes in their lives.
We encourage men and women with addictions, as well as clients who struggle with other issues that cause instability in their lives, to join our long-term recovery/discipleship programs. All our programs emphasize important life-skills and Christian discipleship, with the ultimate goal of returning men and women to a stable life centered around a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Tragically, right now we are unable to reach many of the men in need because of a chronic shortage of space. We typically have at least 50 men waiting for our long-term Christian Life Program (CLP). We just don’t have the space to accommodate them. We are praying and working toward a solution that involves a new facility, which will more than double the space for the CLP. We also want to renovate our existing shelter to increase bed space so we can sleep 300-plus men. This is an enormous project, and to make it happen, we need your continued partnership (and that of many others).
Do you know why it’s worth our investment of time, talent and treasure? Just come and visit, and you’ll see the lives being changed!
