Life-changing Volunteer Opportunities
For five exciting weeks this summer, Camp CUMCITO will be home to hundreds of energetic kids—kids eager to leave behind the problems and pain of their lives in the city and to experience six fun-filled days at camp in Warsaw, Mo.
We invite you to join our dedicated team of volunteers who demonstrates their love for Christ by touching the lives of impoverished children.
Volunteer for a Week
- Recreation
Supervise recreational activities such as canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking and games. - Crafts
Prepare craft kits and assist campers as they experience their creative talents at craft time. - Chapel
Lead kid-oriented music throughout the day and present nightly skits at chapel. - Counselors and Assistant Counselors
Provide overall guidance to campers during their week at camp; counsel campers in self-image, spiritual growth, personal hygiene and relationships with other campers. - Big Sibling
Supervise daily activities of children ages 4-6, focusing on providing a nurturing and loving environment. - Food Service
Prepare meals, set tables, clean up kitchen and dining hall. - Housekeeping
Launder linens, maintain and clean common areas, and staff the canteen. - Office Assistant
Assist camp director and administrator with general office duties and daily needs at camp. - Medical Support
Track and distribute medication and provide first aid. Nurses must be certified in Missouri.
Volunteer for a Day
- Work Groups
(Saturdays, June 30–July 28; 8:00 a.m.–noon)
Launder bed sheets and clean common areas to prepare for the next camp week. - Bus Monitor (all day volunteer)
(Mondays, Saturdays; Sunday for Teen Boy camp)
Put children at ease during the trip to or from camp and the Family Center. - Luggage Helper
Help unload luggage in Kansas City and distribute children to parents.
