From the Desk of Dan Doty
I was raised in a family that went to church together, but even with that advantage, I made a lot of bad decisions before I became a Christian at 18. Through the ministry of a few other Christians, I came to the conclusion that I needed to personally ask for forgiveness and receive "pardon" for my sin through Jesus Christ.
Now at age 52, I’m very grateful that God didn’t wait for me to clean up my act before I could ask for His forgiveness; He welcomed me just as I was. In the words of that very special hymn, Just As I Am, God will "welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve ...".
God welcomes all who sincerely turn to Him. He will pardon all who ask for His forgiveness through His Son. He cleanses us each time we go our own way and disappoint Him. He relieves His weary children as we trust Him.
Who of us isn’t in need of God’s welcome, pardon, cleansing and relief? Pray for the many men, women, youths and children we reach out to with this wonderful message.
To do this, we must rely heavily on God (and you). In 2007, our ministry expenses will climb, so we ask for your continued prayers and financial support. We hope to have half our 2007 budget provided for by Jan. 31. If you can, please stay informed of our progress towards meeting this need at our Celebrate Hope: Giving Hands - Give Hope page.
We are thankful for all you have done and will do for the homeless and poor. May God truly bless you for being a part of our ministry, "Just as you are".
