Volunteer Opportunities At City Union Mission

Volunteers come to City Union Mission to join us in ministry to the poor and homeless. We see volunteers as God's provision to further our ministry to our clients. Volunteers who wish to work directly with clients must be prepared to share the Gospel message. Those who are not comfortable with this may be assigned to other essential tasks.

There are several ways you can participate in volunteer service with City Union Mission:

  • Looking for a one-time or unscheduled/occasional volunteer opportunity? Check out our CORE Volunteer program.

  • Are you interested in more specialized work that is done on a recurring basis? Please consider our High-Impact Volunteer program.

  • Do you want to participate in a Christian Community group established to help City Union Mission complete various projects? Find out more about the Northland Circle of Friends and new groups starting in your area.

  • Would you or your group like to learn how to organize a drive or benefit to secure food and material items to meet the needs of Kansas City's poor and homeless? For more information and/or ideas, please click on Drives & Benefits.
