Warsaw Farm Facilities Administrator

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Assist the Director in the oversight of the Opportunity Farm and Camp CUMCITO facilities in Warsaw, MO.  Also, act as an on-site liaison between rental camps and City Union Mission.

Must be able to plan, organize, and supervise work projects for the Christian Life Program men, such as construction, remodeling, etc. Must be able to teach Bible classes and provide Bible-centered counsel. Must be able to use a computer and Microsoft Word. Must be a licensed driver.

Men's Center Shelter Case Manager

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Perform all tasks related to Shelter Ministry, seeking to minister to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs as it relates to case management.

Preferably a licensed minister, but will consider others. Must have experience in Biblical counseling, experience in drug and alcohol counseling, and experience in some form of management. Must have an Associates degree or one year full-time ministry experience. Must be able to follow procedures and guidelines. Must have a heart for people and a willingness to learn. Abilities with word processing and e-mail functions are necessary.

Church Relations Specialist

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Develop, implement, and manage efforts related to City Union Mission’s relationships with churches.

Needs to be results oriented and have the ability to handle multiple tasks and work with a team. Must be able to coordinate staff, volunteers, resources, etc. Needs to have good organizational, relational, and communication skills. Must have a heart for ministry. Must have the ability to work under pressure / deadlines. Writing and computer skills are preferred (knowledge of Word and Excel), as well as the aptitude to learn donor software and database management.

Family Center: Overnight Hotline/Security - On Call

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Answer calls (switchboard and Hotline for the Homeless) and monitor building activities from the security booth.

Qualifications: Requires excellent organization and communication skills, and the ability to record information accurately and neatly. Needs ability to work in fast-paced, emotionally demanding environment with a sensitivity and compassion for the poor and hurting in society. Must exhibit a background of dependability.  This will be an overnight on-call position.

 Hours: 10 pm - 8 am; Any night as needed

Family Center: Evening Shelter Manager

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Administer the services of City Union Mission to the women and families of the Family Shelter, seeing that day to day operations in the shelter are being carried out (linen distributed, new guests checked in, etc.). Supervise guests in the shelter and enforce policies, insuring that guests are cared for adequately, the property is safe and secure, and the policies and procedures of City Union Mission are consistently applied. Handle emergencies that arise. Provide spiritual leadership for clients and be an example of Christ.

Qualifications: Exhibit a level of spiritual maturity to model Christ before clients, with knowledge of the Bible and ability to witness to others. Exhibit leadership, good judgment, sensitivity, compassion, and good oral and written communication skills. Be able to give tough love where necessary. Must be able to handle stressful situations and de-escalate conflict where needed.  

Hours: 24 hrs/wk, Evening hours, Fri. – Sun., possibly early am Sunday

Men's Center: Security - Evening

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Monitor those who enter the Men’s Center to make sure the building is secure. Make sure everyone who enters the Men’s Center is cleared through security. Take phone messages as needed. Answer client questions and direct them to the right staff person for help.  Give referrals as needed. Seek to exemplify Jesus Christ daily and be prepared to share the gospel as opportunities arise.

 Qualifications: Requires a demonstrable background of spiritual maturity, sensitivity and compassion as well as superb organization and communication skills. Must have a compassionate heart for the poor and hurting of our society and exhibit good judgment, sensitivity, and ability to deal tactfully with the public. Must be able to deal tactfully with the public. Must be familiar with office equipment and operations and computer literate and demonstrate neatness, accuracy, and dependability.
 
 Hours: 24 hours a week; 2 pm - 10 pm; Sun., Mon., and Fri.

Family Center: New Life Center Building Manager - On-Call

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Oversee participants of the New Life Program, assuring cooperation with program policy and procedures and proper treatment of the facility. 
This position should promote Jesus Christ through behavior and seek opportunities to minister to the spiritual needs of guests.

Qualifications: Requires a heart for ministry, with strong people and communication skills. Must have spiritual maturity with a knowledge of the Bible to model Christ like behavior before guests. Need leadership skills, good judgment, and the ability to give tough love when necessary. Must be able to handle stressful situations and de-escalate conflict when needed. High school diploma or GED required.

 Hours: Any day, as needed. Weekdays: 4 pm - 9 pm
Sat.: 9 am - 9 pm; Sun.: 1 pm - 9 pm

Men's Center Shelter Manager - On Call

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Handle emergencies that arise. Provide spiritual leadership for clients and be an example of Christ.

Qualifications: Preferably a minister, but will consider others. Must be able to folow procedures and guidelines. Must have a heart for the homeless, experience in some form of  supervision, some experience in drug and alcohol counseling and Biblical counseling.

Family Center: Cook

Deadline to apply - September 10, 2010

Provide nutritious, attractive meals to shelter guests, staff, and volunteers, up to 165 people.  Provide a friendly warm atmosphere for shelter guests, staff and volunteers. Maintain Health Department standards for cleanliness in kitchen and dining room.

Qualifications: Must love to cook and have 1 or more years of quantity cooking experience. Be able to prepare enough food for up to 250 people. Have good organizational skills, time management, and people skills. Be able to work in a team.
 
Hours: 8 hrs/wk; 10 am – 6 pm
