Rescue, Recovery, Reaching Out
City Union Mission is on a "rescue mission" to bring emergency relief services to hungry and homeless men, women and children on Kansas City’s streets.
Each night, the Mission shelters up to 445 homeless individuals in our emergency shelters; 900 fill their stomachs in our dining halls each day. The homeless find a warm welcome, Christian guidance, clean clothes, medical assistance and more through our rescue efforts.
City Union Mission is a place of recovery. Our Christian Life Program for men and New Life Program for women and families give each person an opportunity to grow spiritually, learn new life skills, obtain greater education and job skills, and become productive members of the Christian community.
City Union Mission reaches out with Christ’s love. Low-income families and youth come for counseling, Bible study, education, groceries, clothing and after-school programs - all provided at no cost. These life-sustaining support programs help families and individuals living on the edge of homelessness make it to the next month ... and the next check.
