Budget Relief Opportunities
Below are ways to direct financial gifts towards budgeted items. Directing your gift to a need below provides budget relief for one year.
School supplies
Last year, we filled approx. 1,500 backpacks. Our goals is to be able to provide 1,800 children with supplies in 2010. The cost per child is $40, this buys a backpack filled with required school supplies.

Vanderberg Youth Center’s Learning Center $775
This covers curriculum, teaching resources, manipulatives, web site accesses, and other supplies needed in the learning center.

Box Fans for Summer $1,000
This will provide the Mission with 100 box fans for summer. The fans are given out for community assistance and are also needed for summer camp.
Food For Vanderberg Youth Center $1,000
The Mission provides after school snacks for children and youth in our after school programs.
Special Events for our overnight guests $1,335
This gift covers special event items for days such as Super Bowl, New Year’s Eve, Birthday’s, Valentine’s Day, and our Live Nativity.

General Equipment $2,050
This includes equipment that will need to be replaced (throughout the year) at the overnight men’s shelter. Some items include: mattresses and vacuum cleaners.
Medical Supplies $3,000
The Mission provides $3,000 worth of over-the-counter medical supplies to our guests and clients.
Capital Improvements to the Men’s Center $4,800
This includes improvements that will need to be made in 2010. Such improvements include: window well repairs, roof repairs, courtyard, and installation of hand dryers.
Food for Camp $22,500
This gift amount covers all food costs for our summer camp program. Our summer camp program specializes in helping to break the cycle of poverty among inner city children and youths.
